Biography
I
can’t believe it’s been 50 years! How does one
put 50 years in a paragraph or two? I’ll try -- When
I left Penfield, I headed to Alfred State Tech. Left after
one year and worked at Strong Hospital in psychiatric research.
Met Jim Naccarella and we were married in 1963. Jim was a
middle school English teacher in Spencerport where we lived
for 12 years. We have to sons, Jim and Randy (also alums of
PHS). I worked at Xerox and then from home for General Code
Publishers when the boys were little. We moved back to Penfield
in 1978 and I re-entered the work force. I tried bank telling
and hated it so went back to my comfort level of being an
administrative assistant. Worked at Eastman School of Music
briefly and then in the education department at Strong Museum
for 18 years and loved every minute of it. From there I went
to WXXI and then Harris Interactive (Gordon Black). I finally
landed at Nazareth Schools as executive assistant to the president
where I am currently employed and have been for the past 10
years.
Jim retired in 1991, and sadly was diagnosed with a degenerative
brain disease 6 months later. He died on Thanksgiving Day
in 1996. It has become a bittersweet holiday. I have since
down-sized and now live in Fairport with my 2 Shih Tzu’s.
I have 3 granddaughters, Vanessa, Antonia, and Maria, all
sisters, who I thoroughly enjoy. They are beautiful, smart,
and full of life. We all travel together at least once a year
– one of my true pleasures, travelling. I’m looking
forward to our reunion in August. (Sorry, I can’t find
a picture of just me – this one was at the State Swim
Competition in Long Island where Toni, granddaughter on right,
was competing; Maria is on my left.)
Remember, we are just passing through, treasure every minute
of it.
