Biography
Following
graduation from Penfield Central High School, I attended the
University of Rochester and met my beloved husband Steve.
He graduated in 1963 and joined the Marine Corps. We married
two weeks after my graduation in 1964, moving often while
Steve was on active duty. I returned to Rochester while he
was on tour in Viet Nam. Eventually we settled in West Chester,
PA, bought a house and started our family. After seven years
we moved to Newark, DE. I began to play the cello again after
almost 12 years, took more lessons, and joined my first professional
orchestra, the Delaware Symphony. We eventually moved to Louisville,
KY in 1983 where Steve started his own marketing business.
I continued to play the cello, performing with most of the
major groups in Louisville, including the Louisville Orchestra,
Music Theatre Louisville, and Derby Dinner Theater. I currently
belong to a string quartet (www.quartetlouisville.com),
teach at the Louisville Academy of Music (www.laofm.org),
and sing in our 140 person church choir. Steve is an active
tennis player, I have made recordings for the blind, and we
have worked on about 7 Habitat houses with our church.
We have a daughter Peg, 42, a computer technician, who lives
in Gulfport, FL, and a son, Jim, 40, who is married and has
a 2 year old daughter, Meghan. They live nearby and we are
blessed to have Meghan to ourselves two days a week. We are
very active in our church and Bible study and are trying to
cut back on work responsibilities so that we can travel more.
We have been to Greece and are planning to go to Ireland in
the near future. We enjoy spending several weeks during the
summer in the Adirondacks, playing golf whenever we can, and
visiting family in PA, FL, and CA.
Best
Regards to all.
